Instant messaging is a great communication tool: one that shouldn’t be ignored. Because Fall is just around the corner, I usually take the beginning of every season to write down my goals and to check on my progress with them. Because one of my favorite seasons is just around the corner, I thought I’d give you my top 3 goals and tell you how instant messaging can help you (and me) accomplish them.

  1. Pay off credit card: To do this, you need to save money. A quick and easy way to save money is to not do as many social activities or to bring your lunch to work. When your friends ask you over instant messaging to go out to lunch with them, saying no over instant messaging is a lot easier than saying it in person. You can also use IM to let your friends know that you are paying off debt and will be saying no to more activities.
  2. Lose 10 Pounds: This goal can be easily accomplished if you have an accountability partner that Letter Press Victory s trying to lose weight (or accomplish some other health-related goal) as well. You and your health buddy can then use an instant messenger to check in daily to see how your efforts are going.
  3. Read More Books: While you can’t read novels via instant messenger easily, you can use this online communication platform to get book recommendations from friends and family. Also, simply talking about books with a friend will keep it at top of mind for you. GoodReads is also a good social reading community that can help you keep tracks of books you’ve read, as well as books you want to read.
